Quranic Dua For Shifa, Health, Epilepsy, Back Pain, Autism, And Pain

by | Jul 7, 2025 | Quran courses

All Muslims should turn to Allah when facing physical illness, emotional distress, or spiritual fatigue. Quranic Duas for Shifa are among the most powerful tools a believer can use to seek well-being.

The entire Quranic verses are a source of blessing and healing; a Muslim may recite any verse from the Noble Quran to seek healing. Additionally, many specific verses are recited for healing, as guided by the Prophet ﷺ.

These verses serve as a source of light and healing. They resemble divine remedies revealed by Allah Himself. When recited with sincerity and full conviction, they bring comfort to the heart, ease to the body, and peace to the soul.

We mentioned that many Quranic verses are recited for healing, as guided by the Prophet (peace be upon him). This is called (Roquaih).  Among them are the following:

1. Surah Al-Fatiha (1:1–7):

This Surah is called Ash-Shāfiyah, meaning “The Healer,” as it is known to provide healing for both spiritual and physical ailments. This surah can be used in the routine of daily Quranic duas for health.

You can recite it as a Quranic dua for epilepsy by placing your hand on the patient’s head, or as a Quranic dua for irregular periods by placing your hand on your abdomen while reciting it sincerely.

2. Ayat Al-Kursi – Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255):

This Ayah is the greatest in the Quran. It talks about Allah’s names and attributes. Remembering them gives you hope for shifa and patience for pain. You can learn more about its meaning in the Quranica Online Quran Tafseer Course.

3.Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ, Surah Al-Falaq ,and Surah An-Nas:

They are among the most powerful Surahs used in Ruqyah (spiritual healing), and the Prophet ﷺ consistently recited them, especially in the final part of his life. These two Surahs carry immense benefits, and no one can do without them. They have a unique power in protecting against magic, the evil eye, and all kinds of harm.

4. Verses from Surah Yunus:

One of the great verses used in Ruqyah (spiritual healing), as it affirms that only Allah has the power to remove harm, and that if He wills good for His servant, no one can withhold His bounty. This strengthens a person’s trust and certainty in Allah during the healing process.

5. Verse from Surah Al-Mulk (3–4)

Some people use the following verse as a Quranic dua to improve eyesight. They affirm Allah’s perfect creation and power, which strengthens spiritual protection, but there’s no authentic evidence that it treats a specific illness or body part.

ArabicTranslation (Sahih International)Transliteration

6- Perform a Ruqyah

When seeking healing (Shifa) through the Quran, we turn to the beautiful Prophetic practice of Ruqyah. To ensure our supplications are accepted and performed correctly, the Ruqyah must meet three vital conditions that protect our faith.

First, the words must be from the Quran or authentic Sunnah, with a clear meaning. Second, they must be completely free from any form of shirk (associating partners with Allah), as healing is sought from Him alone.

Most importantly, we must have complete certainty (yaqeen) in our hearts that the Quranic verses are a blessed means, but the cure itself is a gift granted only by the will of Allah, Al-Shafi (The Healer).

The method taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is simple and powerful. After performing wudu and focusing your heart with a sincere intention, gently place your hand on the area of illness. Then, recite the Quranic duas for Shifa, such as the great Surah Al-Fātiḥah or the noble Ayat al-Kursi.

Following the Sunnah, you may perform nafth (a light, dry blowing) into your palms and then wipe over the affected area. This blessed practice, whether for yourself or a loved one, transforms the recitation of Quranic dua into a profound act of worship and reliance on Allah for all healing.

Conclusion:

We need to read Quranic duas for shifa and turn to Allah through sincere supplication. When recited with conviction, they can serve as divine remedies for body and soul. While certain verses, such as Surah Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursi, and the last three Surahs, are widely used in Ruqyah, there is no direct evidence linking any verse to the healing of a specific illness.

You know how to make Ruqyah and turn Quran verses into Quranic duas for health, knowing that healing comes only by Allah’s will. When practiced correctly, Ruqyah can be a beautiful form of worship and a powerful means of seeking relief from all physical or internal illness.
