Level 1 - Teaching Kids How to Pronounce and Write Arabic Letters
This stage of Quranica’s Noorani Qaida Course for Kids focuses on the very basics, introducing children to the Arabic alphabet and their shapes and sounds.
We use colorful visuals and interactive activities to make learning Arabic letters fun and memorable for kids.
Training Kids to Recognize Arabic Letters and Shapes
We start by teaching children to recognize and differentiate between the Arabic letters. We use visual aids and interactive activities to help children recognize and remember the shape of each Arabic letter.
Kids Learn the Sounds of Arabic Letters
This stage is about mastering the correct pronunciation of each Arabic letter. We pay special attention to letters that have no English equivalent, such as ‘ayn (ع), guiding children on how to produce these unique sounds.
For example, the word “عالَمين” (‘Alamin) contains the ‘ayn (ع), and we train the kid to pronounce it correctly.
Arabic Letters Writing Practice for Children
A child’s ability to recognize and pronounce Arabic letters is strengthened when they practice writing them. We provide plenty of practice opportunities, focusing on the correct formation of each letter, both in its isolated and connected forms.
This writing practice helps children visualize and internalize the Arabic letters, making them more confident in reading and eventually writing Quranic verses.
Level 2 - Connecting Arabic Letters and Introducing Movements for Kids
At this stage of Quranica’s Noorani Qaida Course for Kids, children begin to see how letters connect to form words and are introduced to the basic vowel sounds (Harakat).
Kids Learn How Arabic Letters Connect
We teach children how Arabic letters change shape when they connect to each other, forming words. This is a crucial step in learning to read Arabic and Quran fluently.
For example, we teach the kid that the letters “م” (meem), “ل” (laam), and “ك” (kaaf) when connected form the word “ملك” (Malik – King).
Teaching Arabic Short Vowels (Harakat) to Children
Kids are introduced to the short vowels (Fatha, Kasra, and Damma) with examples directly from the Quran, such as فَلْيَعْبُدُ (Falya’budu).
Kids Read Short Arabic and Quranic Sentences on Their Own
Children begin practicing reading short sentences from the Quran, applying the rules they have learned. This is where they start to see the fruits of their labor, reading words from the Quran itself, like “بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم”.
Level 3 - Advanced Arabic Pronunciation and Reading for Kids
At this stage of Quranica’s Noorani Qaida Course for Kids, we delve deeper into Arabic pronunciation rules, including Tanween, Madd, Sukoon, and Tashdeed.
Kids Learn Tanween (Nunation)
What’s that subtle “n” sound at the end of some words? It’s Tanween! We explain this concept in a child-friendly manner, using examples from the Quran.
Your child will learn to recognize and pronounce words with Tanween correctly, adding another layer to their Quran reading skills.
Kids Learn Madd (Long Vowels)
Children learn how to elongate vowel sounds using Madd letters (Alif, Waw, and Yaa). This is essential for Kids for proper Quranic recitation.
Kids Learn Sukoon and Tashdeed
We introduce the concepts of Sukoon (absence of a vowel sound) and Tashdeed (doubling a consonant sound), helping children understand how these symbols affect pronunciation. These rules are very important for reciting the Quran correctly, as they affect the meaning and flow of the words.
For example, in the word “الْحَمْدُ” (Alhamdulillah), the “ل” (Laam) has a Sukoon, and in the word “الرَّحْمَٰنِ” (Ar-Rahman), the “ر” (Raa) has a Tashdeed.
With practice, children will master the pronunciation of words with Tashdeed, making their recitation clear and strong.
