Quranica began life in 2005 as an arts organisation promoting the beauty of Qur’anic recitation, primarily through events under the banner of The Glorious Recital. The website in its new manifestation (since Ramadan 2011) is a collection of studies related to the Qur’an, including the video series called Ten-Minute Tafsir.

Blog posts, papers and linked resources will focus on such areas as Qur’anic vocabulary, methods of interpretation, Qur’anic sciences in general, and misconceptions related to the Qur’an. We will do our best to respond to relevant questions with the help of expert scholars. About the Editor

Sohaib Saeed is a Scottish student of the Qur’an, writer, translator and occasional imam. He is presently pursuing a degree in Qur’anic Studies at the Faculty of Theology (Usul al-Din) of the world-renowned Al-Azhar University, Egypt, after attaining degrees in philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. Alongside all things Qur’anic, Sohaib is passionate about community work, education and dialogue.
